Minnkota, employees give big for Giving Hearts Day

This Feb. 13, Minnkota and its employee giving committee, Minnkota Cares, maximized the value of their charitable donations on Giving Hearts Day. Eight organizations that operate within the cooperative’s service territory and home communities received donations, which are then matched by sponsors to amplify their impact.

Minnkota provided $1,000 corporate donations to both Make-A-Wish of North Dakota and North Dakota Youthworks. Make-A-Wish creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, while Youthworks helps at-risk and homeless children in the region feel heard and have a safe place to belong.

Thanks to the generous donations from Minnkota employees during the annual giving drive, Minnkota Cares was able to allocate six $500 donations to wide-reaching organizations on behalf of employees including:

• The 31:8 Project
• The American Diabetes Association’s Camp Maverick
• The Empire Arts Center
• Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN
• North Dakota Future Farmers of America Foundation
• Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue
